Laura Ball, an Ohio native, has been passionate about writing since a young age, with her love for storytelling sparked from reading young adult mysteries. Laura is the author of the cozy mysteries Whiskers in Trouble, The Whiskered Witness, and Whiskers of Suspicion. She is also the author of the children’s picture book, The Adventures of Hank the Hamster, and the award-winning children’s book series Albert the Donkey Meets a New Friend, Albert the Donkey Finds a Treasure, and Albert the Donkey Solves a Mystery, which are heartwarming tales filled with valuable life lessons. Her hope is to bring to life characters that are relatable and storylines that keep your attention and stay in your thoughts long after the last chapter ends.
I’m Amanda Morton!
Amanda Morton lives in Ohio, where she works in both human and veterinary medicine and spends her days caring for others—big and small. Amanda’s vitiligo journey began in 2018, gradually spreading across her body while sparing her face for years. In 2025, it reached her face and neck, deeply impacting her self-esteem—especially with the stares and comments from others. But over time, she has transformed that pain into power. Now, she embraces it fully, using her story to educate and connect with others, knowing it makes her beautifully unique. Inspired by her own experience with vitiligo, she inspired this story about a sweet bunny with beautiful spots. Amanda hopes this book helps children discover that what makes them different can also make them beautiful!
